Tips

After much searching for a hotel that would work for everyone, we've decided the best idea is to just leave it up to you. Here are our tips as you look for accommodations in Chicago:

1. Book early! Chicago has a shortage of hotel rooms and as hotels get booked, prices skyrocket.

2. Consider travel costs if you're looking for a better price outside the city. Downtown Chicago hotels are pricey, and we all get sticker shock when we first see the rates. But before you go for that bargain-by-comparison hotel out by the airport, consider the costs and inconveniences of getting in and out of the city. Some of the inner ring suburbs like Evanston might be a good choice, but just keep in mind the cost of parking downtown!

3. Use whatever service works best for you to find good rates. Hotels.com, other travel sites, or flight/hotel combos are all good ways to find hotels.

4. The wedding venue is located in "The Loop" and is also in/near the "Theatre District." Hotels in these areas are likely to be very close - potentially within walking distance. Hotels located on Michigan Avenue or near the "Magnificent Mile" are close enough for a short cab ride, but not walking distance (especially if you're in your fancy clothes.)

Although downtown Chicago has too many hotels to list here, these are a few that are near the wedding festivities.

Palmer House Hilton

The Palmer House is only about 2 blocks away from the wedding location. It's a great old-school fancy hotel - they say it's the longest running hotel in North America. Bo's and Karen's parents are staying there.

Club Quarters, Central Loop

Club Quarters is primarily a members-only business travelers hotel. However, rooms are rented out on weekends to non-members, and rates tend to be less than comparable hotels in the area. This hotel is about 2 blocks from the wedding location.

W Hotel City Center

The W hotel is about 4 blocks west of the wedding location. It's more modern and swanky than traditional but is still pretty fancy.

These are just a few of the hotels in downtown Chicago. If you're having trouble finding one, or aren't sure if the one you've found is a good one, don't hesitate to give us a call or send an email. We are more than happy to help.
